A two day training workshop on Sexual and Reproductive Health in the context of Women’s Right to Health was successfully held on February 3 & 4, 2017 at SAP Falcha for Health Right & Tobacco Control (HRTC) network’s 27 active women from 27 different districts of Nepal. The main objective of the program was to aware on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and to create & help enabling the participants on their role on these issues and of SRH and SRHR at the community level where they reside.
In the first day of training workshop, Executive Director of Resource Centre for Primary Health Care (RECPHEC), Mr. Shanta Lall Mulmi enlightened the objectives of the program along with the welcome speech. It was followed by the presentation from Dr. Punya Paudel, Family Health Division on “Government system addressing women’s health needs”. Similarly, there was the presentations from Mr. Purna Bhakta Duwal, Communication Officer of RECPHEC, Dr. Sarita Shrestha, Director of Devi Maa Ayurved Hospital and Ms. Saloni Singh, Executive Chair of DIDIBAHINI on “Our Role in Realizing Women’s Right to Health”, “Women’s Health & Ayurved” and “Role of women activists in addressing health needs” respectively.
In the second day, there was the presentations from different resource persons:Dr. Tirtha Rana, Dr. Bimala Lakhey and Ms. Aswini Rana on “Concept: Sexual & Reproductive Health”, “Sexual and Reproductive Health Issues” and “Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights”. It was followed by Group work and group presentation which has make the training workshop more lively. Then after, the way forward and concluding remarks from Mr. Mulmi. Finally, there was the certificate and bag distribution program.
